The Genting Culinary Classic 2025, hosted by Resorts World Genting in partnership with HAPA® Group, marks a prestigious celebration of Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage and talent. This inaugural competition is a groundbreaking milestone as Resorts World Genting’s first-ever culinary competition, set to become an annual hallmark event that shapes Malaysia’s culinary calendar.

As part of Genting’s 60th Anniversary celebration, this event provides a platform for food enthusiasts as well as local and resident chefs aged 18 and above to express their creativity, skills, and passion.

The final competition will be held in person, where the top 20 chefs will compete to create a Muslim-friendly dish, adhering to guidelines of no pork, no lard, and no alcohol.

1st Place: Worth RM25,000 (Cash Prize of RM20,000, in-kind prizes worth RM5,000)
Crowned as the Grand National Winner of the Genting Culinary Classic 2025

2nd Place: Worth RM15,000 (Cash Prize of RM11,000, in-kind prizes worth RM4,000)

Important Information Before You Register

When you register via the link below, you will be asked to provide your personal details about one signature dish featuring Malaysian local cuisine.

Kindly prepare digital copies of the following items:

  • A recent high-resolution photo
  • An identification document (NRIC or Passport)
  • A high-resolution photo of your signature dish
  • A clearly written recipe of your signature dish:
    1. Basic ingredients will be provided on the competition day.
    2. You may bring special ingredients that require a longer preparation time (e.g., broth, sauces, dough, or marinated items). Please ensure these are listed in your submitted recipe.
    3. Do ensure that the preparation methods of the ingredients and measurements are indicated clearly when submitting your recipe.

A total of 20 finalists will be shortlisted based on the quality and creativity of their submissions.

  1. .⁠ ⁠Introduction
    • By entering the Genting Culinary Classic 2025 in Collaboration with HAPA®, all participants agree to abide by these official Terms and Conditions. These Terms govern all aspects of the Culinary competition, including eligibility, submission requirements, judging, prizes and dispute resolution.
  2. ⁠Eligibility
    • 2.1: General Eligibility
      The competition is open to individuals aged 18 years and above as of the date of registration. However, any participants below the age of 21 years must submit their application together with a letter of approval from their parents or legal guardian.
    • 2.2: Geographical Eligibility
      Participants must be Malaysian or legal residents with a proof of residency, visa or work permit (please submit a copy of the document along with your application).
  3. ⁠How to Enter
    • 3.1: Registration
      Participants must complete and submit the official registration form by 08.05.2025. Late entries will not be entertained.
    • 3.2: Submission Requirements
      Participants are required to submit their original recipe, high-resolution photographs of themselves and their signature dish, and a video of them preparing the dish with audio of them narrating their cooking process, and other relevant materials in accordance with the official competition guidelines.
    • 3.3: Entry Limitations
      Each participant may submit only one entry per round. Multiple or duplicate entries may result in disqualification.
  4. Competition Format
    • 4.1: Preliminary Round
      Participants must submit the required materials by 08.05.2025. Submissions will be evaluated by the judging panel, and selected individuals will progress to the next stage.
    • 4.2: Final Round
      20 shortlisted finalists will be selected to compete live at a cook-off on 10 & 11.06.2025 at Genting International Showroom (GISR), Resorts World Genting, demonstrating their culinary skills under set challenges, where the top chefs will vie for the grand title and prizes.
    • 4.3: The final stage will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and food expert based on a predetermined scoring rubric. Judges’ decisions are final and non-negotiable.
  5. Participant Responsibilities
    • 5.1: Ingredients & Equipment
      Resorts World Genting will be providing participants with the ingredients as stated in the participants’ recipe, tools and equipment unless otherwise informed by the organisers on its unavailability prior to the competition cook-off days.
    • 5.2: Compliance with Regulations
      Participants must adhere to all health, safety, hygiene and food handling regulations throughout the competition.
    • 5.3: Allergies & Dietary Declarations
      Participants must inform organisers of any allergies or dietary requirements prior to participation.
  6. Media Release & Publicity
    • 6.1: Use of Media
      By entering, participants grant the organisers the right to use their name, image, video footage and submitted content for marketing and promotional purposes across all media platforms, in perpetuity.
    • 6.2: Waiver of Compensation
      Participants acknowledge that no further compensation will be provided for the use of submitted or recorded content, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  7. ⁠Liability & Indemnity
    • 7.1: Limitation of Liability
      The organisers are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during or as a result of participating in the Competition or the acceptance of any prize.
    • 7.2: Indemnification
      Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organisers and affiliated partners from any claims, actions, damages, or liabilities arising out of their participation.
  8. ⁠Disqualification 
    • 8.1: Grounds for Disqualification
      The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any Participant found to be in violation of these Terms, engaging in misconduct, providing false information, or interfering with the integrity of the competition.
    • 8.2: Forfeiture of Awards
      Disqualified individuals will forfeit all titles, prizes and may be banned from future events.
  9. ⁠Modifications & Cancellations
    • 9.1: Right to Modify
      The organisers reserve the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition due to unforeseen circumstances or technical issues.
    • 9.2: Communication of Changes
      All changes will be communicated via the official Competition website and/or directly through registered email addresses.
  10. Miscellaneous
    • 10.1 Severability
      If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
    • 10.2 Entire Agreement
      These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Participant and the organisers regarding the competition and supersede any prior representations or agreements.
