GeM (Genting Electronic Money)
What is GeM (Genting Electronic Money)?
GeM (Genting Electronic Money) is an e-wallet that contains monetary prepaid value that you can use for making a payment a selected outlets or service providers at the resort. For each RM1 that you top-up to your GeM (Genting Electronic Money), you will get one (1) GeM (Genting Electronic Money).
How will I receive my GeM (Genting Electronic Money)?
You can top-up your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) via our top-up kiosks and/ or online banking (FPX).
The top-up of GeM (Genting Electronic Money) can only be in Ringgit Malaysia (RM). Foreign currency is NOT accepted.
(I) Kiosk
- GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card
You are required to purchase a GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card along with your initial top-up amount before you can start using it. Upon initial top-up, a sum of RM2 only will be deducted from the initial top-up as a refundable deposit. The refundable deposit is a one-time charge and is not applicable for subsequent top-up transactions.
- Genting Rewards Card
You can top-up your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance to your Genting Rewards Card. No refundable deposit will be charged.
(II) Online Banking (FPX)
- Resorts World Genting Mobile App
You can top-up your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance through online banking (FPX) via the Resorts World Genting Mobile App. No refundable deposit will be charged.
Can I purchase more than one GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card?
Yes, subject to RM2 that will be deducted from the initial top-up and held as a refundable deposit fo every GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card purchase.
If I already have a Genting Rewards Card, can I purchase a GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card?
Yes, subject to RM2 that will be deducted from the initial top-up and held as a refundable deposit for every GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card purchase.
We recommend you to top-up GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance using your Genting Rewards Card or use our Resorts World Genting Mobile App so that you can set a Personal Identification Number (PIN) of your choice for more protection.
How much can I top-up to GeM (Genting Electronic Money)?
Please refer to the full Terms and Conditions displayed at kiosks when you perform a top-up transaction.
How do I use my GeM (Genting Electronic Money)?
When making a payment using GeM (Genting Electronic Money) at the participating outlet or service provider, you have the following options:
(I) GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card or Genting Rewards Card
Step 1: Present your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card or Genting Rewards Card to the participating outlet or service provider.
Step 2: Wave or tap your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card or Genting Rewards Card at the merchant terminal.
(II) Resorts World Genting Mobile App
Step 1: Launch your Resorts World Genting Mobile App
Step 2: Tap on the “Pay” icon and key in your PIN
Step 3: Present the QR Code to the participating outlet or service provider merchant terminal
All participating outlets will display the GeM (Genting Electronic Money) logo their premises.

Is a Personal Identification Number (PIN) required?
GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card does not have a PIN.
If you are an existing Genting Rewards member, you are required to enter the PIN of your choice when you perform GeM (Genting Electronic Money) transactions and retail purchases at PIN-enabled terminals.
(I) Genting Rewards Card
- Top-up GeM (Genting Electronic Money)
A PIN is NOT required.
- Claiming back unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money)
A PIN is required for any amount.
- Spending at participating outlets/ service providers using GeM (Genting Electronic Money)
Entering your PIN is only required for transactions of RM250 and above
(II) Resorts World Genting Mobile App
- Top-up GeM (Genting Electronic Money)
A PIN is NOT required.
- Spending at participating outlets/ service providers using GeM (Genting Electronic Money)
Entering your PIN is only required for transactions of RM250 and above.
I do not have sufficient GeM(Genting Electronic Money) balance to complete a purchase. What should I do?
You have the following options:
(I) Top-up at any kiosks displaying “You can top-up here!”; or
(II) Top-up through online banking (FPX) via Resort World Genting mobile app; or
(III) Pay such difference or balance in cash, credit card, and/ or any other payment modes that are accepted by the participating outlet or service provider.
How do I claim back my unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance?
You may claim back your unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance at any designated kiosks displaying “You can refund here!”. If you do not claim your unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance within two years from your last transaction date, the unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance will expire and no refunds will be entertained.
How do I check my GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance?
You may check your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) transaction history and balances from:
(I) Any kiosks displaying “You can top-up here!”; or
(II) Resorts World Genting mobile app; or
(III) Receipts with the latest GeM(Genting Electronic Money) balance are shown when you make a GeM (Genting Electronic Money) transaction.
Does my GeM(Genting Electronic Money) have an expiry date?
Yes. If you do not claim your unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance within two (2) years from your last transaction date, the unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance will expire and no refunds will be entertained.I’ve lost my GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card. What should I do?
There is no replacement of the GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card and the unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance will not be refunded to you.
I’ve lost my Genting Rewards Card. What should I do?
You may request a replacement card at any Genting Rewards membership counter for a small fee. Please report the loss of the card as soon as possible to avoid misuse of your GeM (Genting Electronic Money). Any loss of GeM (Genting Electronic Money) as a result of the misuse is not recoverable.
Can I keep my GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card?
You can keep your GeM (Genting Electronic Money) Card. Please note that any claim for unutilized GeM (Genting Electronic Money) balance is subject to the expiry date as stated in the FAQ above.
